Sprzedawana również w postaci nieprzetworzonej lub przetworzonej metodą UHT. Śmietanki o zawartości 9-12% tłuszczu, potocznie nazywanej słodką śmietanką, używa się do kawy. Śmietanki o zawartości 30-36% tłuszczu, potocznie zwanej kremówką, używa się do deserów i sporządzania bitej śmietany.
