Napój - płyn przeznaczony do konsumpcji przez człowieka. Napoje oprócz swojej podstawowej funkcji, jaką jest zaspokojenie pragnienia oraz dostarczanie pijącemu wartości odżywczych, mogą pełnić między innymi funkcje lecznicze, obyczajowe i obrzędowe (np. podczas zaślubin czy liturgii).
Spirytus rektyfikowany - destylat lub wodny roztwór alkoholu etylowego o zawartości alkoholu (objętościowo) około 96%. Ponieważ alkohol etylowy tworzy z wodą mieszaninę azeotropową, jest to maksymalne stężenie, które można otrzymać przez rektyfikację spirytusu surowego.
Rum - napój alkoholowy o wysokiej zawartości alkoholu (37,5%-81%) wytwarzany ze sfermentowanego soku z trzciny cukrowej, koncentratu tego soku lub melasy.
Wódka - wysokoprocentowy napój alkoholowy składający się z destylatu alkoholowego rozcieńczonego wodą w stosunku około 2:3 (40%). W Polsce aby móc legalnie nazywać napój alkoholowy wódką musi on zawierać minimum 37,5% alkoholu.
